ALC panel sizes, A1 fire rating and SABER for Jeddah projects. 600 mm wide, up to 6 m, shipped from Ningbo in 18–22 days. Factory-direct pricing.
Jeddah builds fast and hot. Red Sea humidity sits at 60–80% for much of the year, summer peaks pass 42°C, and new towers on the Corniche plus warehouses in the second industrial zone keep the crane market full. A wall in this city has to handle three things at once: heat, salt air and fire codes. ALC (autoclaved lightweight concrete) panels cover all three in one factory product.
ALC is a precision-cut, autoclaved panel — a sand, lime, cement and aluminium mix cured under steam pressure, with a welded steel mesh cast in. Standard sizes: 600 mm wide, 75 / 100 / 150 / 200 mm thick, and length cut to your drawing up to 6 m. Dry density 500–550 kg/m³. One worker carries a small panel; a crane handles the long wall panels.
The thermal number is the one your air-conditioning engineer cares about. ALC dry thermal conductivity runs 0.11–0.13 W/(m·K). A 150 mm ALC wall outperforms a dense concrete wall two to three times thicker in steady-state heat transfer. The material is vapour-permeable, so it breathes instead of trapping the humidity that eats at interiors on the Red Sea coast.
Fire is where ALC earns its keep on Jeddah commercial jobs. It is A1 non-combustible inorganic material. For Saudi Civil Defence approval on towers, warehouses and malls, an A1 masonry leaf with no fuel load simplifies the submission. Fire-rated partition walls hold their rating without a separate cladding system.
SABER comes first, before the vessel sails. Saudi imports need a SABER/SASO certificate of conformity, issued against the product standard and a CNAS test report. We handle the Chinese side — product standard number, test report covering strength, density, thermal conductivity, fire resistance and radioactivity, plus packing list and commercial invoice. Your SABER-accredited body issues the certificate. Raise registration before order, not after.
Shipping from Ningbo to Jeddah Islamic Port takes about 18–22 days on a direct service. A 40 ft high-cube container holds roughly 55–65 m² of 150 mm ALC panels, or 25–28 m³ of AAC blocks. For a sample or trial order, LCL works but costs about double per cubic metre and adds 7–10 days for consolidation. For a building program, FCL is the only sensible choice.
Price reference, FCL ex-works: AAC blocks run about USD 45–75 per m³ by density grade; reinforced ALC panels roughly USD 120–180 per m³ depending on thickness and mesh. These are Ningbo-loading prices before ocean freight. Ask for an FCL ex-works quote and compare the freight component — in GCC projects the margin sits in the shipping and the schedule, not in the block.
Who buys this: contractors and distributors in Jeddah, Makkah and the wider western region. If you distribute, stock 100 and 150 mm panels plus 100 mm AAC blocks — those two products cover most partition and external-wall specs in the region. Need the full spec sheet or a SABER walkthrough?
