MU5.0 ceramsite shell + flame-retardant XPS core. A1 fire rating, impact-resistant, nail-holding, built-in insulation — why Gulf builders are speccing modular sandwich blocks.
The Middle East asks more of a wall than Europe or East Asia does. In conflict-adjacent markets and protected perimeters, a wall has to resist impact and abrasion, not just carry load. In Gulf summer heat it has to insulate. And in dense residential or industrial zones it has to stop noise from travelling between units.
The modular ceramsite sandwich block answers the first point with a MU5.0 ceramsite concrete shell. Ceramsite (expanded clay) aggregate is harder and more abrasion-resistant than plain foam concrete, so the block takes knocks, edge hits and forklift contact on site without crumbling. Because the shell is dense enough to take fixings directly, you screw straight into the block — no nylon anchors the way AAC demands. Bond strength is ≥156 kPa.
Fire and heat are handled in the same product. The block is rated A1 non-combustible. Inside, the flame-retardant XPS (extruded polystyrene) insulation core is fully enclosed by the ceramsite shell, so it can't burn or feed a fire even in a long exposure. Dry heat-transfer coefficient is 0.35 W/(m²·K) at 700 kg/m³ bulk density — a single-leaf wall that meets 75%+ energy-saving targets without a separate insulation layer.
Soundproofing comes from the sandwich itself. Two ceramsite mass layers with an XPS core between them form a mass-spring-mass system: airborne noise gets absorbed in the core instead of travelling straight through a solid block. It is the same reason car panels and acoustic partitions use layered construction. For hospital wards, schools, hotels and apartment blocks that need quiet between rooms, the modular block outperforms a same-thickness solid block.
One block, four answers: impact resistance, A1 fire rating, built-in insulation, and sound attenuation. We ship FCL from Ningbo with CNAS test reports and full technical data; standard block size 600×240×240 mm, other sizes cut to your drawing. If your consultant wants a wall that survives the region's conditions without layering four separate products, this is the one to spec.
